Memory Grid

Just as ancient Omani vessels once safeguarded what its owners deemed precious, trusted and shared, today we pour our memories into digital spaces. But unlike those tangible containers of the past, our data flows silently into unseen servers, its destination unknown, its guardians invisible.
Here, I invite you to participate in that very act: a ritual of digital trust. Here, you may choose to share a thought, an image, a fleeting memory. What you offer will disappear within seconds.
 No one will see it.
 No server will store it.
Like water poured into sand, it vanishes, leaving behind only the gesture of giving. This is a poetic mirror of how we live today: connected, expressive, and yet uncertain about where our stories reside or who holds them. The installation does not record, analyze, or preserve. It only echoes the fragility and ephemerality of our digital lives. By participating, you become part of a collective reflection on value, memory, and vulnerability.
What do you choose to hold onto?
What are you willing to release? Participation Guidelines:
 – Sharing is completely voluntary
 – You must be 16 or older (or have parental consent)
 – By clicking “Share Memory”, you consent to this ephemeral act No data is saved. No content is seen. No information is processed. This is not a system. It is a meditation. Memory Grid, Oman Pavilion — London Design Biennale 2025
